The Guest List would hate to be denied the title of of a Punk band, but the bands pop-like, catchy, stylistic fusion of genres can hardly be described by a label implying a simplistic, rough, and generalized sound. Indeed a description better suited for the unique, hard hitting, passion driven melodies of The Guest List should be Punk/Indie-pop. The group holds strong roots in punk rock, but undoubtedly transcends traditional punk music with it’s own original brand of musical style.

The Guest List was formed in late 2008 by singer, Aaron Hopelyss and guitarist, Jonathan Misery. After moving to Los Angeles to chase the dream, Aaron Hopelyss (Frankel) found himself in a nightmare. After five years forming bands with fickle members cruelly betraying, steeling and abusing Aaron’s trust and devotion to his projects, he was left in deep despair and utter loneliness. Moving back to Pittsburgh PA feeling defeated it turns out was just the emotional arousal he needed.

Re-connecting with long time friend and co-songwriter, Jonathan Misery (Miller) they formed a whole new take on the music they love fueled by powerful cathartic and poetic lyrics by Hopelyss, and the catchy, edgy guitar by Jonathan the music began to take on a strong, hard-hitting life of it’s own. Soon attracting their new Drummer Derek De Rekt.
Naming the band after a dark & comedic horror/ romance story writen by Aaron, the band called THE GUEST LIST was given life.
It wasn’t long before bassist, Jamey D. Edsy (James Lewis) joined the group and the band launched it’s career, opening for huge acts, such as The Misfits, playing a blitz of events, releasing the debut EP record “My Dear Dead Natalie” with the popular single “Killer Crush” and taking the music scene by storm. One thing can be said, The Guest List is quite a force to be reckoned with!
